Home Remedies to Cure Runny Nose

 The best treatment for a runny nose is to rest as much as possible and to drink plenty of fluids, especially water. 



A hot bath. A person can get some relief by having a hot bath. Resting in hot bath will naturally lead to inhaling some steam, while also helping to relax the muscles of the body. 


Turmeric. Turmeric can help with many health conditions, including a runny nose. The herb has strong antioxidant, anti - inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties that make it very effective for treating a runny nose or cold. 


How to prepare turmeric inhaler

1. Soak one - half teaspoon of dry ground turmeric in a cup of linseed oil. 


2. Heat it until it starts smoking. 

Slowly inhale the smoke through one nostril and then the other. 


You can also have turmeric milk before going to bed. This would offer some help from a runny nose, a cough, cold or a sore throat. 



Method :-

1. Take some milk in a pan and heat it on medium flame. After a minute, when the milk is lukewarm add turmeric powder to it. 


2. Add in some sugar if you want to or you can skip it or you can substitute it with jaggery. 


3. You don't need to boil it but it should be nicely hot throughout. 


4. Turn off the flame and let it sit for another 5 minutes. 


5. You may sprinkle cardamon or cinnamon powder before serving.


Eat a spicy food. The chemical in spicy foods ,capsaicin, helps relieve a runny nose that is not caused by allergies. While eating spicy foods, your runny nose may get worse at first, but in the long run it will relieve your runny nose.
