Red Sauce Pasta Recipe

 Red sauce pasta is a delicious recipe of pasta and red tangy tomato sauce. Red sauce pasta is a dish made with pasta, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, garlic and herbs. 


Red sauce pasta recipe is generally made using only tomatoes. Tomato puree/paste is used to get the bright colour. But making this red sauce pasta recipe entirely using only tomatoes will make it very tangy. So you can use either onions or bell peppers to balance the tang from tomatoes. 



Preparation Time:40 minutes

Servings:4 to 6 people


Ingredients:-

1. Pasta

2. 2 ripe large sized tomatoes

3. Red chilly flakes

4. Salt to taste

5. 2 garlic cloves

6. 2 well chopped onions

7. Oregano


Method:-

1. Take a pan. Add 2 ripe tomatoes and saute for 2 minutes. 


2. Tomatoes must turn soft. Add red chilly flakes. Mix them well. Set aside to cool. 


3. When cooled, put them in a blender. And blend it to a smooth paste. 


4. Now take 2 litres of water in a pot and boil it. Add salt as needed. 


5. When the water starts boiling, add pasta. 


6. When boiled drain them off in a colander and rinse off the extra starch. 


7. Take 1 tablespoon oil in a pan and heat it. When hot add garlic and chilly flakes. Saute them until they turn fragrant. 


8. Now add 2 chopped onions and saute them for 2-3 minutes. 


9. Add the tomato puree and salt. Mix the ingredients well. Cook them on a media flame until the sauce thickens. 


10. Add oregano and mix well. You can put off the stove now. 


11. Add the pasta and mix them well. Cook for a while until well combined.
